PORTRAITS:
I take portraits with the intention of capturing the personality of my subjects. I use simple backgrounds and aim to capture natural expressions of people who are comfortable in their surroundings. I can take pictures in my home, or come to yours.
Portrait Pricing: $25 sitting fee at my site, or $60 sitting fee to come to your site. I will provide digital copies of all portraits on a CD for you with full copyright release for $175 (which comes with a $25 print credit for your online gallery), and/or you may order prints and individual digital copies a la carte through your own password-protected gallery on my website. Some a la carte prices for portraits with glossy finish: 4x6 = $3.50, 5x7 = $5.00, 8x10 = $10.00. These prices are discounted if you also purchase a CD of your pictures.
EVENTS:
My goal for your event is to capture the feeling and essence of your event as unobtrusively as possible without busting your pocketbook. I'm certainly happy to do as many posed pictures as you desire but my primary objective is to recreate the event through the pictures I take, reinforcing and adding to your memory of the day.
I aim to keep my charges reasonable and leave out the pricey frills that can make professional photography a serious drain on an event's budget. I want to provide you with professional service at a reasonable price. For this reason, I don't create fancy custom albums and I don't insist on retaining complete control of the process of getting your photographs. I strive to have your pictures available digitally one week after your event - for weddings, this means that by the time you return from your honeymoon, you can begin viewing and ordering prints from your own password-protected gallery on my website!
Event pricing: I break my prices down into two basic categories - the actual event fee (meaning what I charge to come to your event and take all the pictures), and the cost for you to get your pictures (ordering prints or obtaining digital copies with personal copyright release).
Event Fee: $75 an hour to cover the event, with a three hour minimum. This fee covers all photography services that day, the post-event editing (I will fix color balance and do some cropping as necessity dictates, and also create some special effects on a few choice photos) and a private online gallery to view your photos.
Photograph pricing: Like my portraits, event pictures can be purchased by ordering a la carte prints and digital downloads through your own password-protected gallery on my website. You may also purchase your entire portfolio of high-resolution event pictures on DVD with copyright release. A la carte prices are very reasonable, and DVD prices (with copyright release) will range from $250 - $750 depending on the type and length of the event. (The $750 level, for example, would only be reached for a wedding with full 10 hours of coverage.) The DVD also comes with a print credit toward purchasing prints through your online gallery.
A sample of a la carte prices for event pictures: 3.5x5 = $1.50, 4x6 = $2.00, 5x7 = $3.50, 8x10 = $8.00. I reduce the rate on these prices dramatically if you purchase a DVD of all your pictures as part of your original contract. Your photographs are printed through a high quality professional-level lab, which used archival-quality photograph paper and inks.
I also offer photobook albums, video albums (slideshows on DVD set to music), wallet albums (accordion-folded wallet-sized mini-albums), and custom thank you cards. Ask me about itemized pricing, or tell me what you'd like included and I'll create a custom package for you!
For both portrait sittings and events, I will produce some custom-edited photographs, mainly selective color work. These photos will be available for print purchase, at a cost just slightly higher than the original. Many people find these special pictures add a unique flair, and special value to their portraits and events. Again, you will only pay for this service if you decide to order prints of those pictures.
